Anti-slip paving for traffic and road safety

Zoruflex Traffic is a technical surface solution to improve grip, strength and visual reading of pavements in areas exposed to traffic, braking, turns, slopes or heavy use.

    Technical context

When the surface also influences safety

On roads, roundabouts, ramps, bike lanes, accesses and braking zones the pavement does more than carry traffic. It also affects grip, visual perception, wear resistance and safety of use. Zoruflex Traffic allows intervention on existing or new surfaces with a technical solution oriented to performance, durability and visual reading.

    The solution

    What Zoruflex Traffic is

Zoruflex Traffic is an application within the Zoruflex family focused on urban and road pavements exposed to vehicular traffic, braking or heavy use. It should not be understood as a conventional paint but as a technical surface solution combining grip, strength, colour and substrate adaptation.

    Use cases

    Zoruflex Traffic applications

Where the surface plays a direct role in grip, braking, turning or coexistence between users.

    • 01

      Roundabouts and approaches

Surfaces subject to turning, braking and recurring traffic where grip and visibility are especially important.

    • 02

      Curves and critical points

Areas where trajectory, braking or visual perception require a surface with better technical performance.

    • 03

      Ramps and slopes

Areas where surface grip is key to improving control and safety of use.

    • 04

      Bike lanes and light mobility

Visible, durable and anti-slip finishes for urban routes, bike lanes and shared mobility zones.

    • 05

      Car park and garage entries

Manoeuvring, braking and repeated-traffic surfaces where strength and grip are needed.

    • 06

      Loading docks and logistics areas

Operational traffic areas where the pavement must withstand heavy use and keep good surface performance.

    • 07

      Local and regional roads

Sections where reinforcing visual reading, grip and surface strength is beneficial.

    • 08

      Shared urban areas

Spaces where vehicles, pedestrians, bicycles and light mobility share the environment.

    Technical performance

What it brings to the pavement

Indicative benefits of the system. The specific outcome depends on substrate, intended use and site conditions.

    • Improved surface grip
    • Anti-slip behaviour
    • High friction in specific versions
    • Wear resistance
    • Impact and abrasion resistance
    • Seamless continuity
    • Colour option to enhance visual reading
    • Adapts to asphalt, concrete or other substrates after technical assessment
    • Fast return to service depending on system and site conditions
    • Integrates recycled glass within the current Zoruflex approach
    Key difference

    More than a traffic paint

In many interventions colour is used only as signage. Zoruflex Traffic goes further: it combines colour, texture, strength and surface behaviour for zones where safety, durability and fast intervention are key.

    Critical road points

A solution for critical road points

Zoruflex Traffic is especially suited to areas where traffic, braking, moisture, turning, slope or coexistence between users converge. It aims to improve the pavement's surface behaviour and reinforce visual reading of the intervention point.

    • Braking zones
    • Crossings and pedestrian crossings
    • School environments
    • Bike lanes
    • Roundabouts
    • Access points
    • Wet or exposed surfaces

    Methodology

    Application process

Each intervention must be defined by substrate, use, traffic, exposure and technical goal. Indicatively, the process includes:

    1. Step 01

      Substrate assessment

    2. Step 02

      Preparation and cleaning

    3. Step 03

      Zone delimitation

    4. Step 04

      Zoruflex system application

    5. Step 05

Technical finish with texture/colour per project

    6. Step 06

      Final review

    7. Step 07

Traffic reopening subject to site conditions

    Materiality

Recycled glass integrated in a high-performance solution

Zoruflex is part of Byond Canarias' solution line where materiality plays a real role. Its current approach integrates recycled glass across the family, linking technical performance, urban application and applied circularity.
